When the Royal Family appointed someone to take 18th birthday photographs of Prince William at Eton, they picked Ian. Over the years, his rigorous professionalism in all situations has earned him the respect of both those he photographs and of his peers - hence the award in 1998 of the Royal Photographer of the Decade.
